Happy Mother's Day!

This is how I spent my day and I enjoyed every relaxing minute of it.  Click here for a peek of what it looked liked before (was not loving the wood legs, I know my hubby thinks I am crazy).






I prepped the legs of this day bed or should I call it a huge a** ottoman? It's as big as my sofa!





Then I used paint primer.





First coat of black paint going on.





And the finished product! Love the black finish with the brass!

Stay tuned as I will be putting a new Designer Guild fabric on it tomorrow!

Swiss Fun Friday Find - Antique Piece

Check out this beautiful canned antique piece here listed on Anibis.ch for only 800CHF!!!  It is located in Lutry and in excellent condition it states and from the late 19th Century.

This piece you could put in any room with any type of furniture.  I love mixing and matching furniture, especially something such as a "WOW" factor like this!  Again, if I only had room for it.....

Swiss Fun Friday Find - Chairs!

Just found these two matching wood vintage carved chairs for only 100 CHF here!

Check out the detail!  I would love to paint or have these stained black and place in my bedroom.  Someone please buy these before I do and get into trouble with the hubby!  Will post pictures of rooms using these chairs next week for inspiration.

Swiss Fun Friday Find - WTF?

I was browsing through furniture items on anibis.ch and came across this:

 

It is some sort of paper mache statue to sit on your sofa.  I would love to see a design challenge with this decorative piece involved (this is me joking). Is the red purse made out of paper mache too? 

Would you purchase this as a decorative item in your salon to sit on your sofa? I am just at a serious loss for words.

Swiss Fun Friday Find

Ok I read Design Sponge everyday. Love that blog site. A while ago they posted about bamboo chairs here.

Look what I found on anibis.ch! Seven bamboo chairs for only 25chf each! Love the legs on these, I am so tempted to buy a few, but have no idea where I would put them in my tiny 1800 sq ft flat.....grrrrr.

These are all images from Design Sponge below. Check out the endless possibilities of the different colors you could paint the anibis chairs above. Would have to get rid of the blue cushion of course!

My favorite is the black bamboo chair. Very sexy!

Swiss Fun Friday Find - DEUX

I live in a beautiful old building in Lausanne and it's only fault is that it only has one toilet! That's right I said one toilet! As we have family and friends visiting during the year and a toddler who now uses the toilet and can not wait in line...some days I wish we had a port-o-potty!

Today I came across this unusual find on http://www.anibis.ch/:


How great would that antique commode look in a room! Think my guests would look at me crazy when I tell them to use the antique chair and to be sure to empty the pan everyday....it would come in handy.

Swiss Fun Friday Find

I was browsing through Elle Decor rooms online and came across this photo and thought that Lucite coffee table sure did look familiar around here in Switzerland.

I shop at http://www.pfister.ch/ and http://www.interio.ch/ all the time and came across these very similar coffee tables right here in Switzerland, but these are clear heavy glass coffee tables, not magenta lucite. Still a fabulous find!
